Explorers' Camp (ages 11-14)
Typically 6th-9th graders
July 25-Aug.1, 2026
Explorers' Camp is for adventurous kids who love being outside in the woods. Campers spend their days immersed in nature, hiking the scenic trails surrounding Shrine Mont, as they explore the importance of caring for God’s creation. While at Shrine Mont, campers enjoy swimming, games, arts and crafts, and interesting programs. While on the trail or in a tent at night, campers discover the beauty and wonder of the Shenandoah mountains.
Well-trained and experienced counselors support campers in all aspects of hiking and overnight camping. They help them practice self reliance by carrying their own food and shelter, and work together as a group to set up the campsite. Explorers' campers enjoy making long lasting memories with friends and often leave the mountain with a little more confidence and pride than when they arrived.
