Cabin Team
The cabin team consists of cabin counselors and OOCCs. The cabin team runs programming and cabin time for cohorts of campers.
Vienna House
Vienna House staff provide various supports to camps including coordinating facilities, trouble-shooting, and communications. Vienna House staff work closely with camp directors and with Paris.
Camp Leadership
Camp leaders provide care, programming, development for cabin teams and serve as a liaison to the broader camp community. Prior leadership at camp or otherwise preferred.
St. Elizabeth's
St. Elizabeth's serves campers 14-25 years old with intellectual disabilities.
Volunteer counselors experience camp alongside campers, assisting and supporting them.
Paid Staff support the program and guide the volunteers and campers during the week.

Shrine Mont Camp Staff members:

All staff members must:

Complete a Medical History/Consent to Treatment form before camp

begins;

Become certified in CPR and First Aid by training week;

Submit to a criminal and sexual offender background check;

Be available for the entire staff training period, and on site whenever their
-
camp is in session;

Have experience working with children (preferred);
-
Have enthusiasm, high energy, and ability to work well with other
-
staff (required).

Interviews and hiring will be on a rolling basis. All staff must have a background check and complete all paperwork before employment is confirmed.

Hiring Timeline for all Applicants & Details:
Please note that the dates listed in this timeline are estimated, but we will be in contact regularly with updates or slight adjustments as necessary.

Applications are available and accepted for the camp season. Applications are accepted until all positions are filled, but applicants are strongly encouraged to complete and return their application promptly. You can expect to receive confirmation that your application has been received as soon as it arrives in the Diocesan office.

Applications continue to be accepted. At the end of the month, applicants will hear from the director(s) of the camp(s) to which you have applied about the status of your application and to set up an interview if applicable. Please note that not all applicants will be asked to set up an interview time, due to the number of applications received each year.

The majority of our interviews will take place during February through March. Your interview may be an in-person or online/telephone interview. It may be one-on-one or in a group setting.

All hiring decisions are planned to be made by MID-APRIL. You should expect to hear from the director(s) of the camp(s) to which you have applied with their final decisions on or about this time. Contracts will be sent to you via email by the end of the month, and are expected to be returned within two weeks of receipt.
Salary Structure:
- 1st year counselors: $240 per week, plus room and board.
- 2nd year counselors: $265 per week, plus room and board.
- 3rd year counselors and beyond: $290 per week, plus room and board.
- Program Director/Assistant Director/Artist/etc.: $315 per week, plus room and board. ($25 will be added to weekly pay if the individual returns for a 2nd, 3rd, or 4th summer in the same position).
All persons hired for Shrine Mont Camp staffs are required to have current certifications in first aid and CPR, submit the Consent to Treat form, and complete a Voluntary Disclosure Statement about criminal history. These forms will be mailed to you at a later date.
