New Parent Zoom Call!
In 2024, camp was able to have a New Parent Zoom call! This was a perfect time to hear more about our program and ask questions - and now you can give a listen too! This video covers information about staff, facilities, arriving to camp, and more. If you have questions from this, feel free to reach out - and we will see you at camp!
Camping at camp!
The exploration of the outdoors is important for all children to experience as they learn and grow, and is a vital method for connecting to God's creation. We want every camper to experience the wonder of camping with their fellow campers and counselors. We believe camping encourages collaboration and teamwork between campers and helps foster creative problem solving skills. Campers will have to work together to set up and prepare their campsite with their cabin mates, learn the 7 Leave No Trace Principles, and will learn basic outdoors skills.
Shrine Mont Camps Camping Values
An essential part of Shrine Mont Camps is our commitment to our camping programming and bringing campers into nature. Our values behind our camping program are:
-
Creation care
-
Encouraging wonder and imagination
-
Building collaboration and teamwork
-
Create empowerment and resilience
We prioritize the safety and well-being of our campers and our dedicated staff is fully trained to ensure a nurturing and secure environment for everyone. All of our staff will have First Aid and CPR training and we will have multiple staff members with Wilderness and Outdoor First Aid training. This summer we will be using the Seven Springs campsite for campers ages 8-10 and the campsite on top of North Mountain for ages 12-14 and 15-17. Both of these sites have unique features that make them exciting for our campers to explore and experience nature. We are excited to create lifelong memories for your child and foster their personal growth through enriching outdoor experiences.

We are working hard to prepare for a wonderful time this summer full of exploration of the outdoors and new friendships. Here are a few items that will help your camper have a smoother experience while camping this summer:
-
Rain Jacket - As much as we all hope for sunshine and nice weather, it rains a lot on the mountain and rain or shine, camp will go on! Please send your camper with a waterproof jacket to help keep them comfortable and dry on our adventures.
-
Sturdy shoes for hiking - we do a lot of walking at camp! These shoes should be ones your camper feels comfortable hiking 2+ miles in, have arch and ankle support to protect them while walking on the trail, and should be broken in/fit comfortable on your camper's feet. We recommend a pair of hiking shoes.
-
Water Bottles - We will be very active at camp this summer so staying hydrated is extremely important. We ask that you pack TWO water bottles for your camper to help them stay refreshed throughout the session. Remember, hydrate to be great!
-
Sleeping Bag (separate from sheets/cabin sleeping items) - Having a sleeping bag will be essential for our camping trips. We have extra sleeping bags available for campers who do not bring a sleeping bag but our supplies are limited.
-
Other Items - In addition to these items, your child should pack other camp essentials such as appropriate clothing (including a warm layer for evenings), toiletries, flashlight and insect repellent. Encouraging your child to pack responsibly and independently can help build their confidence and readiness for this amazing camp adventure. Your camper WILL NOT need materials such as fire-starters, pocket knives, first aid kids, compass, or rope.

Lastly, some of the activities your campers will get to experience are:
-
Swimming in the springs
-
Having chaplain's time outdoors/doing a meditative practice
-
Pitching their own tent with their cabin and counselor
-
Playing some of our favorite games, like habitat!
-
Roasting smores around the campfire with their camp and telling stories!
Discount Information
Sibling Discount
A continuing discount that we offer is our sibling discount - if you are sending more than 1 child to camp, get 25$ off per camper.

Refer a New camper family Discount
This is another new discount that we are excited to offer to our returning and new camp families. This discount is offered to both a ‘referred family’ as well as the ‘referring’ family - so both new and returning families can work together to get to camp!

How it works:
-
During registration in the 'enrollment questions' section, a family will have the ability to list one new family they are referring to camp. If you are a new family, there will be an option to list one family that is referring you.
-
Both the referring family and the new family must list each other reciprocally in order to receive the discount.
-
Ex - the returning family Williams could refer the new family Smith. The Williams family puts down ‘referring new family’ as ‘Smith’, and the Smith family would list ‘referred by Williams family” to receive the discount.
-
-

* We will not award a discount if a referring family has listed a new family, but said new family has not reciprocally listed the referring family (and vice versa). We will contact you directly if this is the case. A 'new family' will be considered any family that has not had a camper attend a session of camp since 2018 or before.
-
Once the new family has registered and paid their deposit of 75$, we will then credit the referring family 100 dollars, and the new family 100 dollars per camper. (If a family must unregister for any reason, this discount will not act as a credit to a further camp balance. Any family that receives the referral discount will retain it, even if the other family unregisters.)

-
This referral discount can be applied alongside the ‘Sibling’ and ‘Early Bird’ discounts, and will work alongside the $100$ for the 100th Scholarship seen in the 'scholarship' section under 'dates and rates'.

Now is the perfect time to join Shrine Mont Camps for a summer adventure on the mountain! We will do all the things kids love to do when at camp - sing songs, worship, play games (KING BALLLL) , make friends, go camping, swim in the pool, and so so much more - all while making use of the discounts below!!

*Please keep in mind that discounts are different from our scholarships - scholarships are continuously available, and there is more information at the bottom of 'dates and rates'. You can receive a a scholarship by filling out our ‘scholarship form’ during registration.
Early Bird Discount
Register your camper before January 17th, and receive 50 dollars off per camper! Redeem this discount by typing “eb2024smc’ in the ‘coupon code’ area of checkout during registration.

Covid-19 Plan
Following the latest CDC guidelines, Shrine Mont Camps has relaxed some of our COVID restrictions. These actions are based on the fact that COVID-19 has currently been grouped with other respiratory viruses, rather than having standing policy on its own.
-
We continue to encourage, but not require, campers and staff to stay up to date with COVID_19 vaccines.
-
We will continue to practice good hygiene at camp. This includes frequent hand washing, use of sanitizer in the dining hall before meals, enforcing non-sharing of water bottles/foods, and spending as much time outdoors as possible per our programming.
-
COVID-19 tests will be available on site and used as a diagnostic tool if campers or staff report symptoms, or testing is requested.
Anyone who tests positive for COVID-19 will be quarantined in the infirmary immediately following CDC guidelines. In general, quarantine will last 24 hours after the individual is fever free (without fever-reducing medications), and reports an improvement on symptoms. Each case will be treated by our nurses individually, as with other medical needs.

Both staff and campers may be kept in quarantine at camp, or may be sent home for their quarantine period. Anyone returning to camp from quarantine will be asked to wear a mask in enclosed spaces for 5 days.
